Die P-40 war der Standardjäger der US Army Air Corps im Pazifik zur Zeit des Angriffes auf Pearl Harbour.

Der Jäger Typ wurde jedoch auch von der RAF, Streitkräften des Commonwealth und der Sowjetunion in unterschiedlichen Varianten eingesetzt.

Der Bausatz von Airfix ist einfach gehalten. Ersetzt wurden nur die Maschinengewehrläufe durch Kanülen.

Die Maschine war stationiert am Wheeler Airfield auf Oahu/Hawaii und gehörte der 18th Pursuit Group an.

The P-40 was the standard fighter of the US Army Air Corps in Pacific theater at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

However, the fighter type was also used by the RAF, armed forces of the Commonwealth and the Soviet Union in different variants.

The Airfix kit is kept simple. Only the machine gun barrels were replaced by cannulas.

The aircraft was based at Wheeler Airfield on Oahu / Hawaii and belonged to the 18th Pursuit Group.
