Zwischen 1983 u. 1985 beschafften die österr. Luftstreitkräfte 16 Stück Pilatus PC-7 „Turbo Trainer”. Die Maschinen werden hauptsächlich zur Schulung eingestzt, können aber auch für den Luft-Boden-Angriff und die Luftraumüberwachung addaptiert werden.

Letztere Rolle erfüllen die PC-7 jährlich im Rahmen der Operation Dädalus, einer verstärkten Luftraumsicherung über Westösterreich während des WEF in Davos.

Between 1983 and 1985, the Austrian Air Force acquired 16 Pilatus PC-7 "Turbo Trainer" aircraft. These aircraft are primarily used for training, but can also be adapted for air-to-ground attack and airspace surveillance.

The PC-7s fulfill this latter role annually as part of Operation Daedalus, an enhanced airspace security operation over western Austria during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
